Hello Old Mule Friends,

It has been a trying time since Hurricane Helene hit our area last week. We are without power and have spotty internet/cell service. However, this is minor compared to the devastation that has occurred in our community. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with all impacted by this unprecedented natural disaster. Please know we are doing what we can to help our community. We are trying to fill orders as we can. **Update: Power has been restored!! Still spotty cell service and internet but progress is being made!

If you are able to, please donate to any reputable relief effort. You can check this link out that has great information on ways to help these victims. https://www.bpr.org/bpr-news/2024-09-28/list-ways-to-donate-and-help-flood-victims-in-western-north-carolina-after-hurricane-helene  (copy and paste in your search engine if link doesn’t work)

Stay safe friends!  Steve and Cheryl Modlin

Basil Bash or Rub Everything Meatballs a la Mule

This is great for party platters during the holidays, tailgating or a for the dinner table.

Start with your favorite meatball recipe or you can use ours as follows:

1 1/2 lbs of ground beef (or ground whatever!)
1/4 c minced onions
1/2 c bread crumbs or ground flax seed
1 egg
2 Tablespoons of Basil Bash Rub or Rub Everything
1/4 cup Old Mule Sauce

Combine ingredients. Shape into balls. Brown in the pan. Drain fat and cover with additional Old Mule Sauce. Simmer at least another 30 minutes. Or you can put the browned meatballs in a crockpot, add enough Old Mule Sauce to cover the meatballs, and put the lid on crockpot. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or high for 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours. We have had lots of compliments on this recipe! Enjoy!!
